A man has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder after allegedly killing his wife and three children.
The Oregonian reported the 31-year-old man was in custody on Thursday after being charged with the murder of his wife, Ashley Boudreau, and three of their children.
Ashley Boudrek, 29, died from multiple gunshot wounds at the home on June 1.
The victims were identified as Kelli Boudrares, 14, her mother, Kelli Williams, 24, and her sister, Ashley Williams.
The family had just returned from vacation, and Ashley’s father, Michael Boudreaux, had left the state after spending several days in Oregon.
Investigators told the Oregonian the man was upset and suicidal, and that he believed the children were being abused.
His wife was in critical condition and a few weeks later she was transferred to the University of Oregon Medical Center, where she died.
According to the newspaper, the investigation into Ashley’s death was complicated because she was in a medically induced coma, which is not uncommon.
Authorities told the newspaper that Ashley’s son had been placed in the custody of family friends, but that the father was not present.
A motive for the murder was not immediately clear.
