A Chinese university has announced plans for a space-inspired festival to be held at its campus.
The festival is expected to attract up to 2,000 students, who will receive discounts on hotel rooms and tickets to space programs.
A space-theme festival is set to take place at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), in April 2019, and is being sponsored by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
The first step in this venture is the design of a theme park.
“The UCI theme park will be dedicated to the space-centric space culture,” the university said in a statement.
“We are excited to partner with China Aerospace to develop the theme park at UCI.
This will be the first of its kind at the university, and we will do everything we can to support this theme park in China.”
UCI’s campus, located in Irvine, California, is home to some of the world’s best universities and research institutions.
The university is also home to several universities from the US, UK, Canada and South Africa.
The UCI campus has an estimated 5,000 Chinese students, many of whom are currently studying in the UCI Research Park.
The theme park is being developed by the UC Irvine’s International Student Center, the university’s international student service.
UCI announced plans to host a space theme festival in 2019, but the event has yet to be officially announced.
