An Oregon woman and her daughter were found dead Sunday in a tent on the Oregon-Washington border, authorities said.
Officials were notified about 2:30 p.m. about a body found on the side of the road in Yarmouth, according to the Yarmuth County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Department said the body had not been identified.
The body was found inside the tent by a local resident who noticed a smell coming from it and called authorities.
The body was identified as 29-year-old Jessica Kowalczyk of Portland.
She was the daughter of a friend who lives in a cabin in Yampico, officials said.
The Yampiche County Sheriff said they do not believe foul play is involved in the death, but added that it was a difficult time for them.
